food and sleep

I’ve some good some not so good news.

I’m doing really well in terms of living (currently) in a peaceful abode. But have been eating like I’m on death row. I have had an eating disorder since I was 17, so have had problems with ‘over-eating’ throughout my life. I’ve probably put on about 10 kilograms recently (the last two months). Yes. Very scary. So, I’ve bought a treadmill and are using it every day.

The other thing is I’m sleeping 12 hours a day almost every day. This is NOT good. I’m not depressed but am over-sleeping which is not good for me at all.

Still not sure how to tackle my over-sleep issue. If I set an alarm, it may trigger anxiety. So, I will need to try different things to see what works best. BTW: I’m not a morning person. G.

  1. I have put on a lot of weight too lately, it must be because of winter. Good luck with getting into the routine of exercise. Ive started doing aerobics and walking each day, but today is day 1 haha. Let’s both do this!! We can

  2. find what motivates you, set small goals and rest them when you reach each step. i had bulimia for years, it was a hard battle. everyone requires different support. you fell off the wagon as they say but you’ve got back up time and time again. find a supportine online or local group. you don’t have to participate in talking at first, just listen to see if it’s the type of support you need for now. your life will change and what support you need may chane to. i surround you with love!

  3. What I do is that I don’t buy any binge foods or not keep them in the house. I could binge on Life Cereal for instance. Anything that qualifies as you liking it too much. For instance,I think it’s hard to binge on fish and salad. Some of your binge foods are contributing to you sleeping too much I’m sure. Break the cycle even if it’s done gradually.

  4. I make myself go out for a treat maybe once a week. Even if it’s a single piece of cake or an ice cream from a gas station convenience store.

  5. Good to hear you bought a treadmill. Exercise is the one place I can be alone with my thoughts and simply relax… and it helps with my sleep. This summer, I was getting too much sleep and it really made me feel tired/lazy. Funny how less sleep actually makes me feel better (more alert and active). Best wishes moving forward into autumn, Gavin!
