it’s a brilliant film about the connection between the Holocaust and segregation laws in America and the caste system in India. It’s not racism, it’s caste. So much of what we think of as being racism is not racism. It’s groups of people who have been marginalized and placed at the bottom of the society (that they belong to). i.e. the caste system in India. No racism there, but a definite hierarchy.
slavery compared with the Holocaust, “subjugation” versus “extermination”.
Very though provoking, which I love. Will definitely watch this one again.

Sounds interesting but I don’t compare the two in any way. The Holocaust was so horrid, killed so many and changed the lives of Jews forever. Slavery was horid and is a very sad times in American history but they don’t compare to me. Of course, the movie may take a completely different direction. 🙂
Apparently the Nazis used the American segregation laws to create the same laws for the Jews. I didn’t know this before. Fascinating.
I had no idea. The Nazis used that as a good excuse. I’m not surprised and no doubt they did more dispicable things that we may not have heard about.
