International Cat Day (or World Cat Day) is a celebration dedicated to all cats, observed annually on August 8. In some countries, this celebration is observed on different days.

It was established in 2002 by the International Animal Protection Foundation with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of caring for cats, their protection and well-being, and to honor these animals that have become important companions to humans.
