fallen door

a door is symbolic of a portal, & a portal is symbolic of a way of accessing the NOW. i.e. a flower, music, conversation with a friend, a photograph, pain: both emotional & physical, a crisis, a breakdown, meditation, prayer, eating a strawberry etc. etc.

… so a fallen door could be a symbol of a lack of portal(s) to the NOW, or a lack of conciousness/awareness.

  1. Is a door not a portal regardless of it’s location?
Did you open this door to see if there was a hole in the ground to climb down?
Could this door be a portal to the earth itself?

    Just some questions.
I love doors/doorways and what they represent
Excellent image. Great thoughts to get me thinking for the first time on this fine new Spring day as I open my eyes – the portals to this waking consciousness.

  2. same questions came to my mind…. :)) Sometimes we just see the unexpected and take for normal the ground on which we walk …. maybe that door … was a key to that finding 🙂

    Great site, Gavin !

  3. ha, i had been here before ….. i had a vague feeling but couldn’t remember it at all …… apparently a door to my memories :))))

  4. well “my memories” , maybe more “lost memories” in general (wasn’t my pic at all !) ….. I see no possibility to edit comments. That’s just as it is, or do i oversee sth ?
