I watched Baby Reindeer last night on Netflix. Absolutely brilliant.
If you have ever been stalked by someone this series is a must see.
The other story going on in this series is a story about grooming and rape. Another reason to see this TV series if this has happened to you.
The other thing that came up for me with this show was: I’ve made the mistake of being friends with the first person to say I like you, let’s be friends. Even though I see red flags from the start, I actively ignore the red flags just so I can have friend. These always end in disaster because I go against my gut feelings and ignore the danger signs. I will never do this again, even if it means being isolated.

You and me both, I’ve missed so many red flags including in my last marriage. I’ve been stalked 3 times so I’m not sure I could watch but it’s great that it shows how predators can slowly work themselves into your life. I want to reblog, It’s a very important message. 🙂

Why do you watch these types of shows or movies? Don’t they trigger you or is part of your healing? Maybe to0 personal there. Hugs.
Being triggered is part of living. It’s difficult not to be triggered these days. By watching these shows, I get triggered on my terms. I have the power and choice, not life making decisions for me. Gavin.
Your trauma was horrific, I see where you’re coming from yet it must hurt deeply to watch.

The positive out of it is that it caught the eye of lots of viewers today. It’s such an important topic that needs much more attention, it’s so delicate and if done wrong can really derail the progress that’s been made. Hugs.

This is true for me and from my experience. This statement helps me to challenge my thinking about victimhood. I’m over 18 so I am responsible for myself and for my behaviour. Gavin.
I have never been stalked before thank god….I’m so glad. What you experienced sounds terrifying, this series I think would make me feel uneasy and might upset me so I haven’t watched it
