Christmas is very much a BIG deal here in Australia. Australia is predominantly a Christian county.

Lots of expectations, and investments in needing to be happy, connected to family and friends, to eat a lot of food, to buy a lot of gifts, the list goes on and on…

Christmas starts in tbe beginning of October, and when it finishes, the Easter eggs are available in the supermarkets on January 1st.

Yes. there are plenty of people who love and enjoy Christmas.

It’s also really difficult to tell if it’s consumerism, or the people driving the thing. one feeds the other, and vise versa.

I don’t think I would cope with living in a communist country, as this is how Christmas feels to me.

      1. Good! When I was a child, I believe he wasn’t allowed to wear shorts… Poor guy, is pretty hot in Argentina around Christmas too! 🙂

  1. Let us us in Canada and Australia celebrate American Thanksgiving – we are very thankful that Trump is not our president elect. 🙂

  2. I prefer the holidays here in Costa Rica. Today is Thanksgiving and it’s just another day unless you hang with gringos. However, for Christmas they are not about presents as much as a vacation. They basically shut down the country for two weeks and everyone goes to the beach! Crazy!
